چکیده
for John Clutton-Brock, the subject became a consuming interest and occupied more and more of his time in general practice. Although self taught in the main, clearly he was very good at it and his skills were held in very high esteem for he was soon appointed as one of the first consultant anaesthetists at Lincoln County Hospital, shortly after the introduction of the NHS. A few years later he moved to another Consultant post at Selly Oak in Birmingham. However, the academic urge was always there and when the post of Lecturer in the Department of Anaesthesia at this University became available in 1953
